Texas spends almost $99,000 per year for each incarcerated juvenile.

Imagine the help for children with mental health problems in the public school system (see comment section) if even 1/5 of that money was spent per pupil per year in the school system.

Out of my 19 students, there are 3 who should be taken away from their parent permanently for neglect. All 3 have had open DCF files for years. The stories the kids from those homes tell are heart wrenching. I guess I should encourage them to commit a crime so they can receive the services they need.
