Baltimore NAACP Vice President Arrested, Not Charged

The Vice President of the NAACP is out there copping like a junkie? He's arrested and then not charged. I'm shocked. Shocked.

WJZ reports:
Police say Staten, who is an executive committee member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's Maryland conference, was in the driver's seat of a car that had stopped near Pennsylvania Avenue and Dolphin Street, which police say is a well-known drug market.

Officers in an unmarked vehicle say a man walked away from a large crowd of people huddled on a street corner and climb into the passenger seat of a silver-colored vehicle.

They wrote in charging documents that they watched a back-seat passenger hand cash to a man standing outside his window in exchange for suspected drugs.

Officers approached the vehicle and found a folded-up dollar bill containing suspected heroin and two pills of suboxone, also known as buprenorphine, a medication used to treat heroin addiction, in the possession of the back-seat passenger, Kevin Logan, 44.

Police found Staten in possession of additional suboxone pills inside a case, and in the driver's side door. They also recovered a half-smoked marijuana cigarette.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says a passenger told officers that Staten had brought him to the area to buy heroin.

Staten and Logan were taken to Central Booking, where Logan was charged with two counts of drug possession. Staten, of Pikesville, was released without charges.

I know Ellis Staten personally. The reported stories are based on leaks from the police department, not official records. I know for a fact much of what is reported has glaring omissions that would tell a slightly different story.

As in everything, there's always two sides of a story, and you can't believe everything you hear.

Just because they're leaks doesn't mean they're not true.

Not having been there myself, I don't know what really happened. But having policed in Baltimore, I'm partial to believing these leaks.

So what's the truth? What's the other side? I'm all ears.

There is another board member of the NAACP who's Grandson is a well know drug dealer to the community and law enforcement and gets off every crime he ever commited because of her connection with officials and NO ONE bothers to look into that situation. His business is a front for stolen merchandise and drugs, and the police who surpose to protect the citizen in fact informs him of when the police is looking for him and manages to beat the system everytime. Money must really be the root to all evil in this situation. Behind closed doors, she's a nice, soft spoken, cunning OLD lady who you would think "Not Her" but true indeed supports his drug activities, and all his friends too because she can get him out of trouble. They need to look further into some of the members family backgroud and see that they too can be brooks too. Always useing the excuse of Jealous people out to get them. The court system need to be looked into as well, for allowing them to get off with a repeated warning.Don't leave out some Official in City Hall. Friend of a feather, flock together.
