Never mind "The Wire." Here is the real thing. --The Wall Street Journal

Cop in the Hood is an explosive insider’s story of what it is really like to be a police officer on the front lines of the war on drugs. Harvard-trained sociologist Peter Moskos became a cop in Baltimore’s roughest neighborhood, the location for the HBO drama The Wire. He provides an unforgettable window into a world outsiders never see. Those who read it will never view the badge the same way.

In Defense of Huckabee

I like his Moxie. Seriously:
“If he were a white kid from an upper middle class family he would have gotten a lawyer and some counseling,” Huckabee said. “But because he was a young black kid he got 108 years.”

Huckabee said the sentence was “far disproportionate from any other punishment in Arkansas at the time for a similar crime.”

I gotta agree.

He's standing his ground and making sense regarding his actions.

I admire that.

His formerly fat Christianist ass won't be getting my vote though.

Belief in evolution seems to be a prerequisite for the Presidency. At least it should be.

Oh, I know one IrishPirate who is going to be left behind on Rapture Day!

That reminds me of a great bumper sticker: "In case of Rapture, can I have your car?"

I've been really disappointed with the "conservatives" who have lined up to give Huckabee a pass on this. He was never really appealling to me as a politician, but this blows him out of the water. (Not only his statements, but his original clemency of this lunatic.)
