Of course as an officer you should call 911. And as an officer, you'll get quick response.

Always be suspicious of officers who never want to be off duty. But then they get called "cop of the year" and believe every great thing they think about themselves.

The man didn't have a gun. But Simone says he claimed to have one and was reaching into a truck.

Simone was off duty when this happened.

I know just a couple of people in law enforcement. I haven't asked them about this case. But i've asked both of them about finding themselves in bad situations when off duty.

Both basically told me the same thing. They'd call 911, try to be as good a witness as possible, but unless there was an imminet threat to public safety, they weren't going to get involved.

Hmm, interesting article. I think the article leaves the reading a lot to think imagine. The article does not mention anything if the suspect had a gun. I know, I have been luckily enough to never to use deadly physical force against someone. Yes, I have been in situations where it would have been justified but I was able to prevail and not use my weapon. Laws are different in every state. Perhaps Cleveland has fewer restrictions when an officer may use or not use their weapon. I believe everyone in law enforcement would agree 11 is abundant.
