Does Torture Work?

Two questions:

1) Does torture work?

See FBI agent Ali Soufan's column in the New York Times.

2) Does it matter if it works?

YEAH SHEPHERD!!! Smith shows suprsing independence for a FOX anchor. That was awesome. Couldn't have said it better myself. That's right, it doesn't matter if it does work. And judging by the number of times KSM and the other douche bage were water boarded, it apparently isn't effective unless you are trying to get false info ( ie."ok, ok, there is a link between Hussein and Al Queda).

Dangerous argument. If you don't think we should be torturing, forget about effectiveness. That leaves the window open for more effective torture, plus you might lose the argument. The moral argument sounds worse when you've made the other side prove effectiveness.
